Clay Primitives

 

The note is manipulated by means of Clay commands called Primitives.

Clay is based on a major scale unless otherwise told and will automaticly perform in the default key of C major. 

 

Primitives include

 

P = Play one beat

R = Rest

PL = Play 2X’s the length of P

PS = Play ½ the length of P

PD = Play 1 ½ beats

RP = Raise Pitch

LP = Lower Pitch

RP1 = Raise Pitch 1 note

RP2 = Raise Pitch 2 notes

RP3 = Raise Pitch 3 notes

RP4 = Raise Pitch 4 notes

RP5 = Raise Pitch 5 notes

RP6 = Raise Pitch 6 notes

RP7 = Raise Pitch 7 notes

RO = Raise pitch an Octave

L0 = Lower pitch an Octave

 

 

The default scale may be changed by entering a different scale name as a primative

Examples:

C-MINOR

F-MAJOR

SCALE7

PX = SHARP

XP = FLAT

X = CHROMATIC

PXL = PLAY SHARP LONG

(THREES) COMPOUND TIME

$ = DOES NOT ESTABLISH BOUNDARIES

 

 Timbres can be changed by inputing name of instruments

 

 

 

Commands: for graphics, texts, viewing score, listing pieces, saving programs, displaying gamma
